Welcome Home Babies offers parents a smooth transition welcoming their infant home from the hospital. We strive to create a stress-free environment by helping educate and inform parents on the care of their new infant, guiding them as they adjust to their little ones arrival at home.

Located in Marin County, serving the entire San Fransisco Bay Area, as a postpartum doula I am trained to understand the needs of parents and babies offering practical support, education and resources, as well as wisdom and gentleness.

WHAT IS A POSTPARTUM DOULA?

A postpartum doula, unlike a baby nurse, is a professional trained to work with new parents and their infant through the period after birth. The postpartum period, sometimes called the fourth trimester, may last for 12 weeks and often up tor 6 months. The postpartum doula offers evidence-based information and gives emotional, physical, and educational support. The doula cares for the parents, baby and often the family, in their home in the first few weeks following the birth. The postpartum doula does not perform clinical or medical tasks, but gives expert advise and referrals

Postpartum doulas work both days and nights with infants from day ONE until FOUR months

DID YOU KNOW...

The first 3 - 5 days after birth the new mothers are filled with hormonal changes, and various stages of body recovery and adjustment. Mothers who choose to work with doulas are less likely to suffer from mood disorders. They also experience more success with breastfeeding, and they're happier with their transition.
